Your First Night at Snoozebox: What to Expect
Booking somewhere you’ve never stayed before always comes with a small amount of uncertainty. What’s the check-in actually like? Is the room what I’m imagining? What do I do when I arrive? These are all reasonable questions, and this post answers all of them.
If this is your first Snoozebox stay, here’s exactly what to expect — from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.
Getting There
Most guests arrive via Stratford Station, which is about a 10–15 minute walk from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Follow signs for the park from the station — it’s well-signposted and straightforward. Once you’re in the park, follow signs for Snoozebox or use the address on your booking confirmation.
If you’re driving, use postcode E20 2ST and follow signs for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. On-site parking is included in your stay — no need to find or pay for anything separately.
Check-In: What Happens
Check-in at Snoozebox is from 3pm. The process is simple and quick — confirm your booking, collect your room key, and you’re done. The team will point you to your room and answer any questions about the site.
If you’re arriving late due to an event, let the team know in advance and they’ll make sure everything is ready for a smooth late-night arrival. This is a very common scenario at Snoozebox — the team handles it regularly.
The Room: First Impressions
First-time guests are often pleasantly surprised by how considered the rooms are. Compact, yes — but not in a way that feels cramped. The layout makes the most of the space: bed positioned well, bathroom accessible, storage where you need it, climate control easy to find and adjust.
The bed is the thing guests mention most. Comfortable bedding, a proper mattress, and — crucially — blackout curtains that actually work. After an event night, this matters enormously.
The Park: Step Outside
This is the part that catches first-time guests off guard in the best way. You open your door and you’re in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Not near it. Not adjacent to it. In it.
Take five minutes before you do anything else and just stand in it. The Orbit tower is over there. The London Stadium is over there. The River Lea is behind you. And this is where you’re staying.
That moment lands differently for everyone, but it always lands.
The Evening: Your Options
Depending on why you’re staying, your first evening at Snoozebox might look quite different from the next guest’s:
Event night: Head to London Stadium or the ABBA Arena, come back through the park, decompress on the terrace
Group stay: Dinner at Westfield, drinks in Hackney Wick, back for a terrace session before bed
Couple’s stay: Dinner at a Stratford restaurant, an evening walk through the park, a quiet night in
Solo stay: Whatever you feel like — Snoozebox is a genuinely good solo base
All of these end the same way: a short walk back to your room through the park.
The Morning: The Underrated Part
Set your alarm slightly earlier than you think you need to. Not because checkout is tight — it’s at 11am — but because the park in the morning is a different place to the park in the evening, and both are worth experiencing.
The Timber Lodge cafe is a 5–10 minute walk into the park and does excellent coffee and breakfast. The River Lea towpath is right there if you want a morning walk. The terrace is yours for a final coffee before you check out.
First-time guests consistently say the same thing as they leave: ‘I’d booked it for the event, but the morning after was the best bit.’
A Few Practical Notes for First-Timers
• Checkout is by 11am — arrange a late checkout in advance if needed
• Parking is on-site and included — no need to move your car before checkout
• The team is on-site if you need anything during your stay
• Westfield Stratford City is 5 minutes on foot for food, supplies, or cash
• Phone signal in the park is good across all major networks
💡 If you’re attending an event on your first night, book a restaurant in advance. Post-event dining at Westfield gets busy quickly on big event nights.
